Position Overview: The Safety/Quality Auditor performs audits on field employees and ensures compliance with all regulations issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other government agencies as well as company policies/procedures. Under limited supervision, the Safety/Quality Auditor is responsible for monitoring and enforcing on-the-job employee safety as well as the integration of quality assurance and quality control measures as part of daily operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct accident and incident investigations, determine probable causes, and make recommendations for corrective action
  • Designs and implements safety programs
  • Remains up to date on state and federal workplace safety regulations
  • Runs informational meetings for employees regarding proper health and safety habits and procedures at work
  • Prepares reports detailing health and safety issues by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Presents reports and suggestions for improvement
  • Fields inquiries from employees about proper safety procedures
  • Responds to on-site emergencies and accidents
  • Investigates on-the-job accidents and prepares reports
  • Identifies hazards or faults that caused the accident and devises strategic plan to remedy those problems
  • Perform jobsite audits to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety systems/procedure and identify and implement improvements
  • Represents Company during regulatory inspections, audits, and meetings. Prepares appropriate health and safety reports, conduct health & safety training, and attends operations meetings to review health & safety concerns and issues
  • Assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required
  • Provides leadership in promoting safety awareness and safe work practices to achieve a safety culture with zero incidents and maintain regulatory compliance

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in occupation health and safety or related field experience


Experience:

Required: 1- 3 years of hydro excavation or construction

Preferred: Hydro excavation experience; understanding of claims investigation; working knowledge of 811 locate requirements and applicable excavation laws.
