HydroExcavators is looking for an efficient Payroll Systems Analyst to be responsible for all payroll processes. The payroll system analyst’s duties include the management of employee data, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, computing wages, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time. This position will support the Payroll Department by entering, analyzing, and transferring union data from excel to ADP Workforce Now. The individual must have advanced experience in excel and be familiar with union regulations preferably.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accurate data entry skills to key time for employees on a weekly basis.
  • Audit union employee data, submitting monthly reports and submit payments to each local union.
  • Maintain digital and physical time-keeping records.
  • Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for tracking purposes.
  • Complete tasks for strict weekly deadlines and adjust to new policies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and assist employees with payroll issues.
  • Communicate via email and telephone to inquiries from managers and employees.
  • Run and review payroll processing reports for accuracy and compliance after payroll transmissions.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary.
  • Understand the company’s policies regarding payroll and communicate any changes to management and employees
  • Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.
Qualifications/Special Knowledge Skills:
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Expert knowledge with Microsoft Office Excel including Pivot Tables, VLook-Ups, Formulas, etc. is required
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and possess strong decision-making skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, work under strict deadlines and exhibit a team player attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
  • Understanding of Union Contracts and Union Liabilities preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to manage time and be flexible. Ability to work outside of normal hours, including weekends and Holidays, as needed.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or a two-year Associate Degree.
  • Two to four years of processing payroll.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Experience in a Union associated workplace preferred.
  • Experience with payroll integrations preferred
  • Experience in ADP Workforce Now preferred.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Able to work outside of normal hours as needed.
  • Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 15 pounds frequently.
  • Able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
